2 Start Your Story With a Bang!!!
Grab Your Reader’s Attention with one of these Story Starters: An Exclamation A Question Dialogue A Sound Return to Narrative Diamond

3 Exposition Set The Scene!!!
Describe your story’s critical character and main setting in the exposition. USE YOUR SENSES (Imagery) USE SIMILIES USE METAPHORS Make you reader feel as though he or she is in the story Return to Narrative Diamond

4 Conflict Something Happens!!!
Introduce in the exposition a problem/conflict that your main character has to deal with. An adventure or special quest??? A conflict with another character??? Completing a big project??? Return to Narrative Diamond

5 THE MAIN EVENTS/Rising Action!!!
THIS SOULD BE THE LONGEST PART OF YOUR STORY Show the action in slow fashion Stretch out the plot Be very detailed Describe any changes in scenery Include main character’s thoughts and feelings as he or she fights with the story’s main problem Return to Narrative Diamond

6 THE CLIMAX Show a major shift in the story
Your character should change in some way Show a major shift in the story Show how your character has changed from the beginning of the story Show a big moment or turning point Return to Narrative Diamond

7 Problem Solved/Falling Action!!!
This is where your character has solved the main problem or conflict of the story Include action leading to the solution Bring your character’s quest to a close Return to Narrative Diamond

8 Conclusion – THE RESOLUTION!!!
Every good story has a lesson to teach! This is the part of the story where your character realizes what he or she learned by solving the main problem of the story! Character’s Feelings Major Decisions Deep Wishes Important Memories Return to Narrative Diamond

9 Climax Rising Action Falling Action Resolution Exposition

10 Now You Are Ready To Write!!!
Here’s your prompt: Imagine your character is awarded a dream vacation. Write about the vacation and the adventures your character has along the way! HAVE FUN!!!
