3 Case 1 – Tardy Student Bryce Jacobs has been late to school 16 times this quarter. His first hour teacher has indicated that his late arrivals are interrupting her classes. She has called home, but nobody answers the phone or returns her calls. Other students have said they feel it’s unfair they have to be in class on time, but Bryce can just show up 20 minutes late each day. How do you handle this?

4 Case 2 – Lunch Room Erica Storm is quite a challenge at lunch. She is known for being very loud at her lunch table. She yells across the room to other students, often insulting them. Trying to impress her friends, Erica throws food. She’s sneaky about it and often gets away with it. At the end of the lunch periods, she leaves trash on the floor and on her table and refuses to clean it up. Today, a lunch monitor brought her down to the office after catching her throwing food. How do you handle this?

5 Case 3 – Lockers Langston McCall always asks to go to the bathroom. But when he’s out of the room, he just wanders the halls. Today, a teacher observed him opening a locker door that wasn’t completely closed. He reached inside and stole money from the locker. Once he put the money in his pocket, the teacher brought him to the office. He claims he was just looking in his friend’s locker, and the money is his. How do you handle this?

6 Case 4 – The Phone Amber Redd had her phone on in class. She tried to hide it under her desk, but her teacher caught her. When her teacher took the phone, she noticed that Amber had been texting another student in the school. The teacher sent the phone to the office. How do you handle this?

7 Case 5 – The Cheat Emily Dribble is caught posting her assignments on a chat room for others to copy. Several students have indicated to the teacher people have been copying her assignment all year. She denies that she posted anything and says the students are lying. How do you handle this?

8 Case 6 – The Brawl Two students get in a fight in the hallway. Randy, who is RACE 1, says Raymond made a racial comment to him. Raymond, who is RACE 2, says Randy made a racial comment about him. Both argue the other started the fight. Both students are hurt and bloody. Parents are on their way to the school. How do you handle this? Walter recorded the fight and posted it on YouTube.

10 Case 7 – The Weapon Alvin was always interested in his dad’s hunting knife. He decided to take it one morning and show his friends at school. Before school started he pulled it out of his bag and showed it off. Someone reported him, and administration removed the knife from his locker during class. How do you handle this?

11 Case 8 – Vape Pen Maureen’s older sister came home from college. She showed Maureen how she had gotten a vape pen while away. Maureen took it one morning and brought it to school. She went into the bathroom with her friend during class and used it. A teacher happened to walk in on them and brought them to the office. How do you handle this?

12 Case 9 – The Bully Casey is well known at his junior high school. He’s loud and curses a lot. He’s very vocal in class and sometimes makes shocking comments for attention. In the hallway, he intentionally bumps into people because he’s bigger. One seventh grader is a target of his nearly every day. Casey intimidates him and smashes him into the locker when no teachers are looking. The seventh grader reports this to you, but Casey denies everything. How do you handle this?
