1 Visualization of Conserved Syntenic Blocks Among Six Cotton Genomes in CottonGen
Ping Zheng, Sook Jung, Chun-Huai Cheng, Jing Yu, Heidi Hough, Josh Udall, Don Jones and Dorrie Main 2018 International Cotton Genomics Initiative Conference May 28 – June 1, Edinburgh, Scotland

2 Introduction Assessment of synteny between related genome sequences, coupled with software to visualize these relationships can facilitate understanding of genome and gene family evolution Synteny between the 6 publicly available cotton genomes was identified using the Multiple Collinearity Scan toolkit v1.0 (Wang et al, 2012) Synteny results are displayed using the Tripal Synteny Viewer (Fei lab, Boyce Thomson Institute) with links to the gene and associated information in CottonGen

3 Access Synteny Viewer via Tools

4 Example: Search Syntenic Blocks
Search syntenic blocks by location Or search a block by its ID View Results of Search abrjB063 Display Syntenic Block and Orthologous Genes

5 Example: Search Syntenic Blocks Cont.
Gene Overview Homology Synteny Orthologues
