3. Fun Friday
Students with an A or B in conduct for the week and no referrals are treated to a variety of rewards which include: movies, dances, games, outdoor activities, etc.
Students not meeting that criteria are kept in classes and social skills are reviewed and our BARK expectations are re-taught.

4. Lunch Bunch
Each week a certain number of students are chosen by grade levels to have lunch with the administration.
The students are treated to pizzas and drinks.
These students are chosen because of exemplary behavior or exemplary improvement of poor behavior.

5. Behavior Coaching
Carver assigned one of its Special Education paraprofessionals as a “Behavior Coach”.
She checks in daily with students who have intensive needs and is always on call when needed to help de-escalate situations before a crisis or to assist in a crisis situation with these students.

6. School-Wide Academic Enrichment
This is a period each morning where the elective teachers rotate among all of the classes teaching a social skills lesson from the Second Steps program.
By the end of the week each class has been seen once.

7. Why Try
Carver has a social worker from St. Gabriel Mental Health that works with the most intensive needs.
The social worker in conjunction with the special needs counselor works with groups of students using the Why Try Program.

8. Demonstration Site
Carver was named the first Ascension Parish school to be named a demonstration site for PBS.
