4 Internal Audit Practitioner (IAP)
Designed for new auditors and rotational staff Quickly demonstrate your internal audit aptitude Successfully complete CIA Part One Designation demonstrated through Social Badging Candidates who have successfully completed the CIA Part One exam within the past 24 months are also eligible to apply for the Social Badge. The Internal Audit Practitioner designation is a great way to quickly demonstrate your internal audit aptitude. You can earn this new designation through social badging by completing the Internal Audit Practitioner application and taking and passing the Certified Internal Auditor® (CIA®) Part One exam.  The Internal Audit Practitioner is ideal for New Internal Auditing Professionals, Rotational Internal Auditors, CAEs or Managers seeking a consistent method of validating their staff’s knowledge of internal audit basics. Internal Audit Practitioner is designed to deliver the following benefits to those that complete the program. Elevate your status by demonstrating comprehension of internal audit basics Communicate your commitment to professional growth It’s the first step towards CIA which is the most sought after, globally-accepted certification in internal auditing Applicants who have already completed and passed the CIA Part One exam 24 months prior to applying for the Internal Audit Practitioner designation may complete the Internal Audit Practitioner application at a reduced fee:

6 CIA and IAP Requirements
Education Work Experience Character Reference Proof of Identification EDUCATION ACCEPTABLE DOCUMENTS: Copy of your degree or official transcripts (If your name has changed since you earned your degree, you must also include your legal name change document.) Letter from university confirming degree Letter from evaluation services confirming degree level WORK EXPERIENCE: CIA candidates with a 4 year post secondary degree must obtain a minimum of 24 months of internal auditing experience or its equivalent. A Masters degree can substitute for 12 of the required 24 months. A completed Experience Verification form is required. CHARACTER REFERENCE: Candidates must exhibit high moral and professional character and must submit a Character Reference Form signed by a CIA, CGAP, CCSA, CFSA, CRMA, or the candidate's supervisor. PROOF OF IDENTIFICATION: Candidates must provide proof of identification in the form of a copy of the candidate’s official passport or national identity card. These must indicate current status; expired documents willnot be accepted. All documents must be scanned and uploaded through the Document Upload Portal in a manner that ensures the photo is clearly legible.

7 Administration Process
Determine your eligibility and skill level Set up an account in CCMS if you do not have one Apply to the Certification Program Submit required documents (Document Upload Portal) Register for the exam through CCMS Schedule your exam through Pearson Vue Prepare for the exam Take the exam Receive your certificate These are the steps interested candidates should follow, the first step is to review the requirements to ensure they are eligible. Once eligibility has been confirmed, they should follow the steps.

10 Maintaining Your Certification
Must report Continuing Professional Education (CPE) by December 31 of each year. Review Administrative Directive No. 4 for more details Its very important to know that once certified, CPEs must be reported to maintain the certification.
