1 Warm up 2/18 Explain Power What formula do you use to calculate the power used in a circuit? How can you know how much current will flow or how much voltage or resistance you will need in a particular circuit?

2 Parallel and Series Circuits
How do series and parallel circuits differ?

3 What is the difference between a series and a parallel circuit?
A series circuit has only one path for the electricity to travel. A parallel circuit has more than one path that it can follow.

4

5 Kirchhoff’s Voltage Law
Over an entire circuit the energy out must equal the energy supplied by the battery.

6

7

8 Kirchhoff’s Current Law
The current into a branch in a circuit equals the amount of current out of the branch.
