Double Spaced 12 point/Times New Roman or 11 point/Calibri 1 inch margins Page numbers at bottom right corner (that is the only item in the header/footer) Minimum of 3 Sources .org, .gov, .edu, etc (remember the Siouxland Library) Interview with Mentor Works Cited is properly formatted (MLA) Alphabetical No n.p. or n.d. Remove space after paragraph Check for spelling, grammar, and punctuation Must include title page Title of project Your name This class Date

5 In Your Paper If you included a chart, graph, or figure of some sort make sure it is cited in the paragraph before it appears. You should reference it in your writing as well (see Figure 1). Figure 1 Continue your writing as a new paragraph after that figure.

6 In Your Paper… In-text citations are a must
Make sure you completed them properly. “Direct quotations must be cited because you are taking the author’s exact words” (Buchholz). You must also cite anything you paraphrase because it is the author’s original idea (Buchholz 33). If a page number is not included, leave it blank (Buchholz). If an author is not included, use the title of the book/article (How to Write a Research Paper).
