3 Graduation Requirements:
115 credits English: 4 years Math: 4 years Science: 3 years of lab sciences U.S. History: 2 years World History: 1 year PE: 4 years Health: 1 year Technology: 1 year Passing scores on MCAS: ELA, Math and Bio tests

4 What is a credit? Credits are earned for completing a course with a passing grade. How many credits do you receive for a every day course? How many credits for PE? How many credits for every other day elective? How many credits for Health?

5 What are required courses & what are elective courses?

6 If a student fails a class his/her freshman year, does he/she have to repeat the entire year?
No! However, if a student fails a required subject, that class MUST be repeated or the student can take it in summer school.

7 What is a transcript? A transcript is an official document that includes: Name, address, graduation year, etc. Classes taken 9th through 12th grade Grades earned in every class Grade Point Average (GPA) Class Rank?

8 Why is a transcript important?
A transcript is important because it is required by technical schools, colleges, universities, the military, and some employers as proof of your high school graduation.

9 What is GPA? Your Grade Point Average is a calculation of your grades on a 5-point scale for weighted GPA and a 4-point scale for unweighted GPA. GPA is cumulative. It includes all four years of high school, it does NOT start over fresh every year!

10 Remember… Choose elective classes that match your goals & career interests in your Program of Study. Get involved in sports, clubs, & activities! Do your best & make the most of your high school years! Take the PSATs in 10th and/or 11th grade. Make connections, build relationships Build skills that will be useful in the future. Ask questions if you don’t understand something Attend your individual meetings
