2 Rapid changes in climate are altering ice and snow cover
Premise: Rapid changes in climate are altering ice and snow cover Consequences for: Arctic ecosystems, Indigenous societies, and Global climate. The IARPC recognized that there is a broad consensus among scientists and residents of the region that the Arctic is warming rapidly and diminishing snow and ice cover both on land and the sea. Those changes in snow and ice are affecting ecosystems and the people who depend on them both in the Arctic and farther away.
