2 School Culture . . . Is the “hidden curriculum” or “persona” which shapes and influences every aspect of school life. It is the atmosphere or climate of the school. Is the result of a school’s beliefs, history, perceptions, attitudes, practices, traditions, and relationships. The parents, students, teachers, administration, board, and local community each uniquely contribute to the school culture. A healthy school culture encourages and energizes students to grow and thrive spiritually, academically, and socially.

3 Spiritual Fear of God that produces reverence and obedience
Love for truth and respect for holy things Spirit of humility and servanthood Spiritual growth and maturity Respect for authority

4 Intentional Focus on the presence of God and His standard of holiness
Identify and respectfully confront attitudes and discussions that undermine Biblical values Emphasize that all truth is God’s truth Give opportunity to be involved in spiritual activities

5 Academic Respect for all studies and publishers Healthy competition
High standard of excellence

6 Intentional Teachers must master the materials
Competition must be inspiring not demoralizing Expect students to do their “sustainable best”

7 Student Ability

8 Social Respectful relations between teacher and student
Every student to feel accepted and respected for who they are Healthy connections between older and younger students Positive peer pressure

9 Intentional Teachers must deal fairly and consistently
Teachers must be observant to and take action with cliques and bullying Create opportunities for positive interactions among the students
