2. Problem 2.8: Enter Tasks
Enter tasks and times for problem 2.8

3. Setting Start & Finish Date
Click Project/Project Information. Click on down arrow of start date for pull down calendar. Click May 1.

4. Setting Time Units
To change time units go to Tools/Options. Click on Schedule tab. Change duration.

5. Setting Calendar
Click Tools/Change Working Time. For changing work week, holidays, etc. To add a holiday in Project 2007, click on the appropriate start date. Then type in the name of the holiday in the table at the bottom of the window, the start (e.g. July 4) and finish time (e.g. July 4). Then double click and specify as non-working. If you wish to change working times, use options button at bottom of window.

6. Resource Use by Task
Double click on each task. Click Resources tab. Label resource Labor and enter in units used by each task.
At same time also enter in predecessors.

7. Showing the Critical Path
Click Format/Gantt Chart Wizard/Critical Path/Dates.

8. Resource Use
To show resource use click View/Resource Graph.

9. Resource Availability
Click Project/Resource Information (You need to do this while you are in resource use view).
In Resource Availability window, enter dates resource is available and maximum units available.

10. Resource Balanced Schedule
To level resources click Tools/Level Resources. Check the Level Now box.

11. Resource Balanced Schedule
To see Gantt Chart click View/Gantt Cart.
