Lesson 2: Theoretical and Experimental Probability
Objective: Swbat find and compare theoretical and experimental probability. Do Now:
3
Lesson 2: Theoretical and Experimental Probability
Definitions Theoretical Probability is based on what should happen during an experiment. Experimental Probability is based on what actually occurs during an experiment.
4
Lesson 2: Theoretical and Experimental Probability
Activity: Coin Toss Theoretical Probability: Experimental Probability: Groups will toss a coin 20 times and total the heads and tails and write the probabilities as a fraction and percent. Compare the P(Heads) and P(Tails).
5
Lesson 2: Theoretical and Experimental Probability
Activity: Rolling dice and getting a sum of 9. Theoretical Probability: Experimental Probability: Dice are rolled 20 times. P(sum of 9) Compare the probabilities.
