1 Why can I flip a coin 3 times and get heads all three times?

2  Flip a coin 10 times and record the number of heads and tails.  Roll a die 30 times and record how many times each number shows up.

3  What did you notice about the coin?  Did anyone get 5 heads and 5 tails?  Calculate your percent heads and tails.  What do you notice about the die?  Did anyone get 5 of each face?  Calculate your percent for each face.

4  On your TI-84: APPS, Prob Sim, Toss Coin, Set, 100, ok, Enter.  What do you notice about your percent's now? (use the arrows to navigate)

5  On your TI-84: APPS, Prob Sim, Roll Dice, set, Trial set: 100, ok, enter.  What do you notice about your percent's now? (use the arrows to navigate)  Press enter again for another 100 rolls and look at the frequencies.

6  The larger the number of observations, the closer the experimental probability of an event will get to the theoretical probability of that same event.
