4 What is the difference between HIV and Aids?
AIDS is a condition. HIV is a virus that may cause an infection, but AIDS is a condition or a syndrome. Being infected with HIV can lead to the development of AIDS. AIDS develops when HIV has caused serious damage to the immune system.

5 What is your CD4 count? A CD4 count is a lab test that measures the number of CD4 T lymphocytes (CD4 cells) in a sample of your blood. In people with HIV, it is the most important laboratory indicator of how well your immune system is working and the strongest predictor of HIV progression.

There is treatment though, and if effectively managed HIV positive people can live out a long life.
