We limit ourselves and God when we are grudging in our giving.

6. Jesus Cared About Our Giving
“…The cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he become unfruitful” (Matthew 13.22).
“For what is a man profited if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?” (Matthew 16.26).
“You fool, tonight your soul is required of you. The things which you have prepared, whose will they be? So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God” (Luke ).
