All protected and non-protected animals wherever possible are returned to the environment that they inhabit; unfortunately there are also unintentional fatal interactions that may also occur (^ denotes such infrequent occurrences in the above table).
 Only when all other avenues are pursued and following a risk assessment process that is approved by Senior Management, intentional lethal action against a (non-endangered or non-red-listed) predator is taken pursuant to the duty of care imposed on a person to ensure health and safety that requires the management of risks - including so far as reasonably practicable, eliminating risks to health and safety (Sections 17, 18 and 19 Work Health and Safety Act 2012). (*denotes such actions in the above table). In all cases of wildlife interactions, pragmatic actions to reduce the likelihood of reoccurrence are considered, recorded and implemented.
