1 Overview of the GACMO Hotel mitigation tool
for estimating GHG emissions and costs The Philippines 31. May 2018 Joergen Fenhann UNEP DTU Partnership

2 The GACMO Hotel tool is an Excel model
The GACMO Hotel tool is an Excel model. The sheets you should use is shown at the bottom of this page. The main sheets is the "Input Output Energy" and the Input Output Food" sheets. All the calculation are in hidden sheets for each activity area, which you can unhide.

3 The top part of the "Input Output Energy" sheet in GACMO:
Here you give some key information about your hotel like name and size. Yellow cells are for your input, orange cells for country data, and green for results. The start year is the year for the last data on energy consumption at your hotel.

4 The middle part of the "Input Output Energy" sheet in GACMO:
Here you give some information about: Electricity price, Energy price of the fossil fuels in US$/liter, Total annual energy consumption in the start year in m3 and MWh (except for generators), Annual fossil energy consumption for generators, Annual growth of energy consumption, Electricity production from fossil fuels and renewables, Amount of solid waste landfilled.

5 The bottom part of the "Input Output Energy" sheet in GACMO:
This is the TOP part of the table for mitigation options, which are listed for all the activity areas. The "Sub-unit" column shows the size of the mitigation option (e.g. 1 freezer), Your input is ONLY in the YELLOW column (e.g. number of bulps), make blank if not used. The 3 green result columns show the CO2" reduction for the options, the accumulated CO2 reduction, and the annual savings in 1000 US$.

6 The bottom part of the "Input Output Energy" sheet in GACMO:
This is the BOTTOM part of the table for mitigation options, which are listed for the activity areas. The "Sub-unit" column shows the size of the mitigation option (e.g. 1 car), Your input is ONLY in the YELLOW column (e.g. number of electric hotel cars) The 3 green columns show the CO2" reduction for the options, the accumulated CO2 reduction, and the annual savings in 1000 US$. At the bottom of the table you can see, that for this hotel the total reduction was tCO2 of the tCO2 in Business As Usual (BAU), a reduction of 36.9%.

7 This shows the options in the "Soft measure sheet".
Only the total impact of these measures are included in the calculations as a percentage of the total electricity consumption.

8 Press the "Create" buttom to make the MAR curve, then adjust the threshold lines to make a nice curve.

9 This is the "Monitoring" sheet
This is the "Monitoring" sheet. You can see the size of the mitigation options, you have chosen in the column "2020 units". You should every year write the number of accumulated installed units, which then can be compared with the goal "2020 units".
