2 Project Overview This week second graders will reflect on the Lemonade Day project and add up their totals to pay back their investors and make their donations. Congratulations on a successful Lemonade Day!

3 Animals and Lemonade Day
Skills and Standards 2.3.7 Identify the meaning or lesson of a story. 2.RF.4- Read fluently and accurately Reading Life in the Desert Noise Level 1 Monday Open your Treasures Book to pages 218 and 219 to discuss Exploration and complete the Talk About It question. Then, read “Continents and Oceans” to learn your new vocabulary words and discuss making author’s purpose. Tuesday Read Columbus Explores New Lands, beginning on page 222. Wednesday and Thursday Complete the reading comprehension packet on Exploration. Friday Read “The Roof of the World” on page 226 and complete the quiz on page 227 to review. Materials Needed Treasure Books Comprehension Packets Pencils Project Connection Animals and Lemonade Day What will happen if… I don’t get it. I didn’t finish. I think I’m a master. 4 Writing Lemonade Day Reflection
Skills and Standards 2.4.8 Revise original drafts to improve sequence (the order of events) or to provide more descriptive detail. 2.5.5 Use descriptive words when writing. 2.W.2- Write informative pieces Writing Lemonade Day Reflection Lemonade Day Monday- Complete the graphic organizer about Lemonade Day. Tuesday and Wednesday Using your organizer, write your rough draft about your Lemonade Day experience. Thursday and Friday Make final edits to your paper and type the final draft of your Lemonade Day reflection. The 2nd Grade Writing Rubric will be used to assess your writing. Skills and Standards Read fluently Restate facts and recall information SSR and AR points Self-Selected Reading / Accelerated Reader Materials Needed Data binder Book of choice Computer Noise Level 0 Choose a library book or a book of choice that you have not read. Be sure you picked a book that you can read alone. Silently read . After you finish your book, write the name of the book in your Data Binder. Be sure to fill in the information about your book in your binder. If you can answer all the questions in your Data Binder, get your laptop and log on to AR to take your test. Record your AR score in your Data Binder. . What will happen if… I don’t get it. I didn’t finish. I think I’m a master. Choose another Book. You will have more time in stations. Great!
