Herbert Hoover led the Food Administration Fixed prices and enforced rationing This is when Daylight Savings Time is begun as well---additional hour to farm

5 Enforcing Loyalty Government began censoring the press and publications Committee on Public Information was formed to rally support(propaganda)

6 “Hate the Hun” Germans called Huns- after a barbaric Asiatic tribe
100% Americanism was being preached Pg. 580, last sentence of the second paragraph…..look familiar???

7 Repression on Civil Liberties
Sedition Act made it illegal to interfere with selling of liberty bonds Over 1,000 convictions on this act were won The war for “liberty and democracy” was a little hypocritical

8 Prohibition Passes Temperance movement had been around for nearly a century Passes in 1917 due to the need to save the grain used in alcoholic production
