2 War Economy The War Industries Board had many factories convert to manufacturing war equipment, rather than regular products – Wages increased, but so did prices for food, etc. – People willingly sacrificed eating certain foods to save them for the soldiers

3 War Economy Most of the war was paid for through selling “war bonds” – Ex. You buy one now for $100, govt. pays you back $110 later (when it can afford to) The Committee on Public Information (CPI) created propaganda to convince people to help with the war.
