2 Unsolicited Messages- What are they?
An Unsolicited Message is: A message instruction in the controller which sends tag values to RSLinx Classic or RSLinx Enterprise. OR RSLinx Enterprise RSLinx Classic

3 Unsolicited Messages- What are they?
An Unsolicited Message is: Triggered on an event in the Controller. For Example – End of Shift would trigger the transfer of data for an end of shift report RSLinx Enterprise

4 Logix Message to RSLinx Enterprise
In RSLogix 5000, the message instruction configuration needs the following: CIP Data Table Write Source Element is the first element of the data to be sent Number of elements to send ShortCut and Destination Element

5 Logix Message to RSLinx Enterprise
The Destination Element is the ShortCut receiving the Unsolicited Message data and the “EXACT” name of the Source Element Source Element: SourceElement[0] Number of Element(s): Length Destination Element: ShortCut.SourceElement[0]

6 Logix Message to RSLinx Enterprise
On the Communications Tab, set the Path 1 = Backplane 5 = Slot of the Comms Module (ENBT, EN2T…) 2 = Front Port of the Comms Module = the IP address of RSLinx Enterprise Application Dependent

7 RSLinx Enterprise – Ethernet Driver Port
The Ethernet Driver uses the CIP protocol to communicate with CIP enabled devices (ENBT, EN2T…). CIP enabled devices use TCP and UDP Port For RSLinx Enterprise to accept Unsolicited Messages, the Ethernet Driver must “Encapsulate” or “Listen” on port

8 Unsolicited Message - Port usage
RSLinx Enterprise and RSLinx Classic cannot Listen or Encapsulate Ethernet Port 44818, on the same computer, at the same time. There can only be one! OR RSLE RSLE RSLC RSLC

To Encapsulate Port in RSLinx Enterprise Open the Communication Setup Right Click the Ethernet Driver Select Properties Advanced tab

10 Configuring RSLinx Enterprise for Unsolicited messages
RSLinx Enterprise is configured with a Shortcut of type Unsolicited Message. RSLinx Enterprise

11 RSLinx Enterprise 5.70 Unsolicited Message Support in RSLinx Enterprise 5.70 Supports only Logix family controllers RSLinx Enterprise
