Labor Day (September 2) is the final day or Zoo Bus service in 2019. Zoo Bus operates Holiday/Sunday on Labor Day. Zoo Bus began weekend-only service May 11. Seven-day-a-week service will begin May, 27 (Memorial Day). Zoo Bus operates Holiday/Sunday on Memorial Day and July 4. 9

10 September 2019 Proposed Service Changes
Route changes

11 OSUAir: Discontinue service
Goal: As many OSU students utilize AirConnect, COTA proposes discontinuing OSUAir service. Next Steps: Increase outreach to OSU student bus pass holders to encourage use of AirConnect. Improve transfer experience between OSU area bus lines and AirConnect in downtown Columbus. Why? OSU student ridership data shows very low use of OSUAir. Most OSU student pass holders already opt to use AirConnect over OSUAir. 11

12 AirConnect: New downtown Routing
Goal: Improve transfer experience and reduce customer confusion by moving AirConnect to High Street in both directions in downtown Columbus. 12

13 Long-Term Detour: Line 51 Reynoldsburg
Goal: Maintain afternoon/evening service quality when Ohio DOT closes downtown 3rd Street ramp to I-70 for a highway expansion project. Nearest I-70 entrance to downtown will be Miller-Kelton during construction. Possible alternative routing: After serving COTA Transit Terminal exit to S. High from Rich St. Continue on S. High Street to SR 104. Use 104 eastbound. Exit 104 at James Road to access I-70 and continue over regular route. Reserve direction in downtown serving COTA Transit Terminal first, and Spring Street terminal last. Take N. 4th Street to I-670. Use southbound ramp to I-71 and eastbound ramp to I-70 to continue on regular route. 13

14 Long-Term Detour: Line 23 at James & Livingston
Goal: Maintain northbound Line 23 service on James Rd between E Livingston & E Main during construction project beginning July 1. Southbound buses will stay on the regular route. Temporary Northbound Routing: Westbound on E. Livingston Ave. Right on Eastmoor Blvd. Right on E. Main St. Left on James Road and continue on regular route 14
