10 Lunchtime School lunch is free in infants– please order online via School Money before the day Special dietary needs will be accommodated Home packed lunch should be healthy and balanced Reception class have lunch early and teachers sit with them for the first term

11 Settling in All children start on a full-time basis. The first couple of weeks provide a gentle start to school-life as we settle the children into their new classes and help them to develop friendships. Jo

12 Transition Arrangements
Home Visits Your child’s teacher will come to meet with you at home week beginning 15 July. You will have already been sent a visit time. This gives us the opportunity to get to know your child in a setting that they are most comfortable in and gives you the opportunity to ask us any questions that you may have. Jo

13 Transition Arrangements
Stay and Play An exciting opportunity for your child to come and play at school. Get to know the classroom and make some new friends! 3 July & 10 July - Drop off 9.30am and pick up at 10.30am Parents are welcome to stay at school during this time. Refreshments will be served in the hall with an opportunity to meet with our Pastoral Support Assistant, After School Club Manager, Senior Lunchtime Supervisor and Church Family Worker.

15 Daily Routines Morning 8:50 Drop off and registration
9:00 Phonics – Read Write Inc. 9:30 Busy Time - independent activities set up by teachers for children to enhance and enrich their learning. During this time, adults teach groups of children in maths, writing, and listen to them read 10:15 Snack and break time – every child is entitled to free school milk until they turn 5 10:30 Maths Input 10:45 Busy Time 12:00 Lunch Jo

17 Playtimes Both classes have access to the outdoor and creative area throughout the day helping to develop social skills, creativity and physical development. Reception children have a separate break time to the rest of the school to ensure high levels of supervision at all times. Reception children play with year one and two at lunchtime, using the playground and field areas. Lunchtime supervisors wear hi-visibility jackets so children can find them easily should they need help. At the beginning of the year, Reception staff help during lunchtimes to support the children as they become familiar with routines. Jo

20 Communication Letters will be emailed
The Communication Diary will have weekly updates on what the children have been doing at school Drop in cafes every term will give you the opportunity to see first-hand how we teach in class Topic Maps explain to parents our learning plans The Home and School Learning Log will contain some simple homework tasks for the term. 22 Tapestry Tapestry is an online learning journal used in Reception
Once we have received your permission to create an account, you will be able to: view your child’s personal learning journal which will include photographs, videos, comments, assessments and next steps for learning upload your own photographs and videos to show us what your child has been doing at home Christina

24 Helping your child to prepare for school
Help to recognise their name and begin to write it Encourage independence when going to the toilet, including handwashing Encourage independence when dressing Share lots of stories together and talk about what happened Help with counting and using numbers in everyday situations Give them plenty of opportunities to use pens, pencils, glue, scissors and paint Jo
