4 Planning for the Future
This Sheridan Park Plat Plan was presented to City Planning and Zoning Commission by John R. Grubb in 1959. On January 22, 1959 Grubb was informed by acting secretary Irene Jacobs that the plan passed unanimously.

Moving from left to right the plans show a horseshoe pit with a shuffleboard area. A softball field and two sand volley ball courts inside an earthen berm that doubles as a manmade ice skating rink. A wading pool and a wooden shelter that was also used as a warming house for ice skaters. One single tennis court and a playground area

6 Park as Focal Point This first ad from august of 1960 shows the park as an incentive for his development plan In this Jan 1961 article Grubb deeds the park to the city with a 50,000 dollar investment agreement. Known as a savvy business man, Grubb continues to use the park as the center in this 1962 advertisement.
