1 PKA regulatory subunit (R1A, R2A, and R2B) mRNA expression in human adipose tissue from obese and nonobese subjects as assessed by real-time PCR. Data are expressed as mRNA relative quantities. PKA regulatory subunit (R1A, R2A, and R2B) mRNA expression in human adipose tissue from obese and nonobese subjects as assessed by real-time PCR. Data are expressed as mRNA relative quantities. Overall, obese subjects express significantly lower levels of R1A and R2B subunit mRNA than nonobese subjects, and a similar expression pattern is observed both in visceral (A) and subcutaneous (B) adipose tissue samples (adipose tissue from obese versus nonobese subjects: *P < 0.01; §P < 0.05; #P < 0.001).
