Not to be lost in the city one should know how to ask the way to this or that place. Look at the examples of asking the way:

- Could you tell me the way to the...?

- Can you tell me how to get to the,..?
- What is the best way to get to the...?
To explain the way to a passer-by one should know some phrases:
go straight ahead;
go along the street ;
cross the street;
turn left / right at the corner
walk past;
go down the street / up the street ;
first turning / second turning;
at the end of the street;
- opposite something;

Here are directions from the train station to nice places in my town.
Go out of the station and turn left. Go along Orange Lane and under the bridge. The cinema is on the left. Then turn right into Red Street and the park is on the right.
Next, go out of the park and turn right. Go along Red Street and turn right into Yellow Road. Go along Yellow Road then turn left into Green Street. The town museum is on the left and there’s a bookshop on the right.
Then turn left into Blue Street. Go along Blue Street and turn left into Pink Street. There’s a beautiful church on the right.
