10 Thesis process: Submission deadline
Complete thesis document must be submitted by April 22, 2019 for pre-approval by your advisor (submit via NYU Classes) If your thesis is pre-approved by your advisor, you will be cleared to give an oral defense If your thesis is not pre-approved, you may not defend and you may fail the class If you are approved to defend, that does not mean that you will necessarily pass, but chances are good

11 Thesis process: Oral defenses
You must give an oral presentation of your thesis in public and defend it Dates: May 14, 15, 16 Presentations slots are 30 minutes long: 20 minutes for the presentation and 10 minutes for questions. This time includes changeover time (the time it takes you to set up everything) You should bring the presentation on a laptop and try the projector and sound in the room beforehand. This is especially important for those of you who want to use any additional piece of equipment for the demonstration

12 Thesis process: Acceptance
Upon successful completion of the defense, students are allowed to make revisions on their thesis These revisions must be submitted approximately a month after the defense on NYU Classes and will be filed as the copy of record However, the actual thesis grade is based on the original, unrevised submission
