The Riggins Report Classroom News for the week of November 26-30, 2018 What we’re learning: Notes: Welcome back! I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday! Now that we’re back it’s time to get back to work! Progress reports will be coming home today. Please review your child’s report, sign and return it. Please let me know if you have any questions. Here’s a quick look at what we’re working on this week… Word Study: We are working on vowel diphthong syllable patterns this week. -ou, ow Reading: We are beginning a new unit today. We will be studying all about Westward Expansion. The students will be learning all about the significance of the Louisiana Purchase and the Lewis and Clark expedition. Math: We are continuing on with Module 4. The students will be learning different methods to help them subtract within 100. Science/Social Studies: We will be working on mapping the areas we’re learning about in out Westward Expansion unit. Thank you to everyone that ordered from the Scholastic book order forms! Our class has the opportunity to earn free books and each order helps! A big thank you to Jennifer Martin for coming to read to our class this Friday as part of our Raising Readers program! Mia always does a wonderful job in class! She works very hard and is always a great example for her peers! She is super sweet, very smart, and she LOVES cats! ☺ Great Job, Mia!
