Malaria-A mosquito-born infectious disease affecting humans and other animals, caused by a parasitic protozoan and leads to chills and fever Spread by the number of Africans who had emigrated to the Caribbean Cortez and his soldiers also brought the disease In 1492, Columbus and his crew became infected with Malaria Mosquitoes carrying malaria were able to survive along the coasts of the America’s in ponds, swamps and lakes The first lasting case of Malaria was in the Jamestown settlement in 1607

Measles-A contagious disease caused by a virus and marked by fever and red spots on the skin. Europeans had built up an immunity to measles because of long exposure 2. An abundance of Native Americans were also killed because they had no resistance to measles 3. Measles was spread through the respiratory system and was very contagious.

Influenza-A very contagious virus with fever, exhaustion, severe aches and pains and inflammation of the respiratory tract.
