Student Membership Requirement Application Fee
Applicant completes & s application to with payment receipt copy HKIQEP Membership Committee reviews application and makes recommendations to the Executive Committee The Executive Committee makes the final decision on membership admission Requirement Have attained the age of 18 years; and, Be a student in a degree, program or course in the environmental field; and, Be proposed by a Founding Fellow, Fellow or a Professional Member who personally knows the candidate Application Membership forms (click HERE) Verified student status proof (with expiry date) Fee Application Fee: HK$200 No annual subscription fee

Associate Membership Requirement Application Fee
Applicant completes and application to with payment receipt copy HKIQEP Membership Committee reviews application and makes recommendations to the Executive Committee Executive Committee makes the final decision on membership admission Applicant submits annual subscription fee Associate Member fulfils CPD requirement (10 units) every year after admission Requirement Have intention to proceed to become a Professional Member; and Have obtained a degree in the environmental field acceptable to the Executive Committee; or have been educated in a discipline related to the environmental field and have supplemented his/her academic qualifications with working and/or research experience in the environmental field for not less than five years; and Be supported by a Founding Fellow, Fellow or Professional Member who personally knows the candidate Application Membership forms (click HERE ) Verified academic qualifications and employment proof required Fee Application Fee: HKD300 Annual Subscription Fee: HKD300

Professional Membership
To qualify for Professional Membership, a Candidate must satisfy ALL of the following criteria: Be a recognised member of an Institutional Partner Meet the requirements for academic qualifications and working experience set by HKIQEP Receive support from three Professional Members, Founding Fellows or Fellows who personally know the Candidate Complete and pass the qualification process set by HKIQEP

Institutional Partner Membership
HKIQEP Professional Members must be a current recognized member of an Institutional Partner (IP) of HKIQEP Note 1: Proof of valid IP membership is a prerequisite for Candidates applying for HKIQEP Professional Membership Note 2: Candidates are recommended to begin IP membership application as soon as possible, as the process may take several months

Academic Qualifications and Work Experience
All Candidates for Professional Membership must meet the following academic qualification and work experience requirements Without environmental related degree With environmental related degree Environmental related work experience 10 years 5 years Hold position of responsibility in environmental related work 3 years

Supporters Requirements
To apply for Professional Membership, Candidates must obtain endorsement from three (3) Supporters Supporters may be: HKIQEP Professional Members HKIQEP Fellows HKIQEP Founding Fellows All three Supporters must sign the Candidate’s application form, as well as initial all pages of any supporting documents A Membership Directory is available on the HKIQEP website listing all current HKIQEP members for easy reference

Professional Assessment (Part I)
Pay the relevant application fee Complete online application form and upload payment receipt Receive confirmation and Study Guide Attend Professional Assessment (Part I) examination on August 17, 20191 Receive results2 Notes: In case of inclement weather, assessment date will be rescheduled for August 18, 2019. Candidates who passed may defer their application for Professional Membership. Results are valid for five (5) years. Candidates who failed may retake the assessment. There is no limit to number of attempts.

3 hours 100 questions (multiple choice) Closed-book examination in English To pass the Examination, candidates must achieve passing scores in each of the six areas as well as obtain an overall pass Environmental Science, Management & Policy Noise Air Waste EIA & HA Water

After passing Professional Assessment (Part I), a Candidate may apply for Professional Membership ALL eligibility requirements must be met, and must be supported by evidence on the application form Application period: 1 July ~ 31 October 2019

20-minute short written test 30-45 minute interview Professional Assessment (Part II) Assessment dates: 18 January / 8 / 15 / 22 February 2020 Eligible candidates will be invited to attend the assessment on one of these dates Advise HKIQEP of known date conflicts as soon as possible to avoid last minute rescheduling

Candidates will be assessed in 5 attributes: The score ranges from 0 to 3 To pass, candidates may not score 0 in any attribute, and shall obtain an overall score of 10 or above Evaluation rubric: HERE Environmental Experience and Knowledge Management experience Awareness of environmental policy, legislations and current issues Professional ethics and conduct Communication skills

Continuing Professional Development
Scope of HKIQEP CPD Event Type Examples Evidence Weighting Learning Attend conferences, seminars, courses (long and short), site-visits, etc. Attendance certificate, badge, receipt, etc. 1 unit / learning hour (full day = 7 hours) Certification Obtain additional professional qualification / certification (re-qualification in currently qualified areas do not count) Certificate, diploma, etc. 5 units / new certification Teaching Guest speaker at conferences, seminars, short courses, etc. (outside of regular employment duties) Event leaflet, thank you letter, handout notes, etc. 3 units / teaching hour Sharing Obtain patent, publish papers, journals, books, etc. Published work 5 units / publication Service Hold positions on committees of professional associations, conference organizer Recognition letter, screen shot from website showing name and position, etc. 3 units / association or conference All events must be environmental related Annual requirements for Professional Membership renewal: in: 20 units Annual requirements for Associate Membership renewal: in: 10 units Professional members are encouraged to adopt a “balanced” approach, adopting a combination of CPD activities in 6 areas: Environmental Science, Management & Policy, Air, Water, Noise, Waste, EIA (&HA)
