Did you know the Attitude to Learning criteria had changed? (Yes/No counted in form groups) Not all forms had done this but the ones that had- the majority of Year 11 knew that it had changed. Aware of A2L : They know the descriptions. Think it makes people try harder. Disappointing is an easy word to understand. Overall, learners do not know and the new criteria are unclear Approximately two-thirds of Year 8’s knew the Attitude to Learning criteria had been changed.

3 Is the new A2L criteria being referred to within lessons, If so, can you share examples?
Depends on teacher “Exceptional” is being used verbally but not so much the other terms Some staff are sharing it in the run up to Parent’s Evening – Science, English, French Some English, Music and Maths teachers have done. Communicated with learners about what they have to do to get the grades and also inform them what they are working at in terms of A2L.

4 Feedback from SLT Mrs Marshall: All learners will have a recap of A2L targets at Data Entry Points – SLT to review as term progresses and see if more learners know after the rewards assembly

5 Refer to poster more in lesson Have posters in other places
Display boards Can you suggest how Rayner Stephens can promote and share the Attitude to Learning criteria? Teachers grade you half-termly on A2L Make sure that all staff have shared it in Form-time Time out of lessons as a group. Non uniform for those who have met exceptional. Refer to poster more in lesson Extra achievement points for Exceptional students Have posters in other places Learner designed posters around school rather than the existing poster. Change the culture of learners response to other learners doing. Stickers in books with the A2L grade on Refer to at beginning of lesson Ensure sticker is stuck into planners Display on morning announcements. Promote on powerpoint and worksheets in lessons.

6 Can you suggest how Rayner Stephens can promote and share the Attitude to Learning criteria?
Mrs Marshall says: We are going to award special EXCEPTIONAL achievement badges. If pupils are EXCEPTIONAL at each Data Entry Point they will be awarded a GOLD badge Student Council says: We are going to run a competition for learners to create posters based on elements of the A2L criteria
