Since the origins  Rome 1960 ITTF is a reputed member of the IOC and IPC 1 new medal event in Olympic program for 2020 (mixed doubles) 2 new medals events in Paralympic program for 2020 3rd sport in number of slots and 4th in medal events for the Paralympic program 174/102+4 slots for Male/Female New medal events TM 6-8  TM6-7 and TM8 TF6-10  TF6-8 and TF9-10

1. Athlete performance 2. Universality (continents and countries) 3. Team event viability

8 Main criteria for qualification (II)
Universality is ensured beforehand by qualification guide Team event viability is fundamental for the future 2 more team events require more wildcards Reductions of slots in some classes require more wildcards Once universality and team events are secured, athlete performance will be considered again by selection committee.

Current rating system discourages participation to top players Should it be changed after Tokyo TCS ensures that top players participate in events

Participation means take part in single event And not withdrawing or W.O during the team event No medical attest considered (they are easily forged) Pre Paralympic competition after the qualification period It give chances to players with limited economic resources Last chance for players with lasting injuries that prevent them from competing Format ensures a super-exciting competition
