1 The Stages of a Hero

2 in his/her ordinary world.
1. The hero is introduced in his/her ordinary world. The hero is inexperienced and may not realize he/she possesses a special power or gift.

3 2. The hero is called on an adventure The hero is presented with a problem, challenge or adventure

4 3. The hero is encouraged /guided /trained by an old wise man or woman

5 4. The hero is reluctant at first ( They don't want to go!)
Hero doesn't know/realize their potential Hero believes he/she is just ordinary

6 hero enters special world
5. The hero passes the first test hero enters special world

7 The hero is committed to his journey.....
and there's no turning back.

8 6. The hero encounters tests and helpers.
hero is forced to make allies (friends) and enemies in the special world

9 Hero encounters many test along the way.

10 7. The hero reaches the innermost cave E.g. deep space
He/she comes at last to a dangerous place. E.g. deep space bottom of the ocean

11 . E.g. James faces the rhino
that killed his parents And may end up killing all his friends

12 8. The hero endures the supreme ordeal.
Audience is encouraged to experience the brink-of-death feeling with the hero.

13 9. The hero seizes the sword (the object).
The hero takes possession of the treasure. Sometimes the "sword" is knowledge and experience that leads to greater understanding and reconciliation with dangerous forces.

14 10. The road back. The hero may not be out of the woods yet.

15 At this point, the hero is pursued by
the vengeful forces from whom he/she has stolen the treasure.

16 11. Resurrection He is transformed into a new being by his experience.

17 12. Return with the elixir (treasure)
The hero comes back to his ordinary world with treasure or the knowledge that he/she gain during the adventure.
