1 LA: Tuesday, October 16, 2018 Handouts: * Lit Test #2, Terms in Literature (test and answer sheet) * If you were absent yesterday, pick up make-up work. Homework: * TAPP 2, use any QW from QW #9 – QW # Due tomorrow, BOC: No late work accepted You must hand in three items stapled in this order: ) Rubric, 2) Final Copy, 3) Rough Draft Plus, have another final copy for you to keep. Lesson Goal: Demonstrate what you have learned in Literature by taking Literature Test #2, Terms in Lit. Outcomes: Be able to [Skip this; go to next slide] Define these lit terms: Historical fiction, credible characters, anthropomorphism, imagery, foreshadowing, simile, inference, idiom, figurative language, text features, theme, moral, predict. Define these power verbs: Demonstrate, define, identify, distinguish, analyze, evaluate, explain, summarize, examine, state. Apply their knowledge by identifying examples of the following within a given text: anthropomorphism, imagery, foreshadowing, simile, inference, idiom. Demonstrate their ability to follow directions and adhere to testing procedures.

3 2) Place your AR book underneath your chair.
Starter #1 Prepare for today’s test: 1) Take everything off from your desk. I will provide a pencil. I will hand out the pencils and Scantron forms once you have everything off your desk. Please do this quickly. Thanks! 2) Place your AR book underneath your chair. 3) If you don’t have an AR book, borrow one from the cove Please be sure to return Mrs. D’s books to the correct shelf. 4) When you finish your test, you will read your book.

4 Starter #2: How to fill out your test answer sheet.
On the gray side of your Scantron answer sheet, in the upper right-hand side of the sheet, fill out this info: Name First & Last Name (printed neatly) Subject Lit Test, Unit 2: Lit Terms Date Oct. 16, Period: 6-D or 6-M Do NOT make any other marks on your answer sheet. Do NOT make any marks on your tests.

5 Starter #3: Testing procedures are as follows. . . .
1) Take everything off from your desk. 2) Place your AR book on your desk or under your chair. 3) If you don’t have an AR book, borrow one from Mrs. D now. 4) Remain seated and maintain zero voice the entire period ) If you need a tissue, make the “T” symbol and I’ll bring the box. 6) If your pencil lead breaks, raise the pencil and I’ll replace it. 7) When you finish, check your work, then raise your hand I will collect your test, answer sheet, and pencil. 8) Read your book for the remainder of the period. 9) Do not ask to do anything other than read. 10) No restroom breaks this period—don’t even ask. 11) No AR tests on Chromebooks—don’t open them at all. 12) If you violate the testing procedure by communicating in any way at all the entire period, Mrs. D has asked me to note it.
