1 Things to Help Your Presentation

2 Choosing Colors - Wrong
Avoid bright colors. Even shades that might not look too bad on the computer monitor can be very harsh once projected onto the big screen.

3 Choosing Colors - Right
Stick to colors that will be easy on the eyes. Neutrals tend to work best. It’s ok to use the suggested designs.

4 Fonts No Yes Don’t use scripts that can be hard to read.
Don’t use scripts that can distract from your presentation. Size matters. Remember your teacher is in the back. You can change it up, but make sure it is still readable. Have fun with it.

5 Information Presented
No Yes Don’t put a million things on the screen when a simple sentence would do. You should be elaborating on the information on the screen If you fill the screen how will you add extra to the discussion? Keep bullets simple. Info should come from you, not the screen.

6 Animation No. Still no.

7 Transitions You can do a transition for the entire slide.
You may NOT do a transition for each bullet point. Transitions for each line slow down your presentation. This also frustrates your teacher. Just in case you are confused, don’t do any of this!

8 Things to watch. Jewelry & Hair – If you have a tendency to play with things when you get nervous, pull hair back and take off jewelry. Reading – Keep your back to the screen. Eye Contact – Look at me or look at the top of people’s head. Volume – I’ve got to hear you in the back! Feet – Plant them shoulder width a part.
