___________________________________________________________ Advanced GIS UNT Geography  ArcScan provides tools for converting scanned images into vector-based feature layers (vectorization) in two ways: Interactive vectorization Automatic vectorization Labs 8.1 and 8.2 are step-by-step exercises for interactive and automatic vectorization. This lecture provides an example of automatic vectorization using a scanned map in Denon, TX. To use ArcScan, go to the Customize menu of ArcMap, select “Extensions…”, then check “ArcScan”. Then open the ArcScan toolbar from Customize  Toolbars.
