7 The first Christians may not have known…
The seeds planted by the gospel of Jesus Christ, the salvation found in Christ, would not be contained by the garden in which it was first planted.

9 The message of Stephen was too big for the old covenant
While the OC was indented to be a tutor to lead us to Christ Gal 3:24, when faith came the tutor had to be set aside Gal 3:25

10 The defenders of the tutor
Looked for a prophet like Moses Wanted to know if Isaiah was talking about himself or someone else when he described the suffering servant They stumbled over the rock, the cornerstone

11 The cornerstone Christ is the cornerstone of a non- physical relationship, a spiritual relationship The human tie, or desire for a brink and stone relationship is so strong humans still kill over it.

12 The Noble Sanctuary, al-Aqsa
News flash - MIDDLE EAST – 3 Israelis killed at Israel installs security cameras and metal detectors at al-Aqsa compound Muslims say the Jews are restricting access to their site…

13 For Muslims The Noble Sanctuary hosts Islam's third holiest site, the al-Aqsa Mosque, and the Dome of the Rock, a seventh-century structure believed to be where the Islamic Prophet Muhammad ascended to heaven.

14 The Jews Jews believe the compound is where the Biblical Jewish temples once stood, but Jewish law and the Israeli Rabbinate forbid Jews from entering the compound and praying there, as it is considered too holy to tread upon.

15 Recent killings in Jerusalem
1. Jerusalem is sacred to the followers of three major faiths 2. The demand for equal access to the holy shrines is a source of tension 3. The importance “place” is used to verification of exclusive nature of each religion.

16 How different from??? Christians who believe that Jesus will return to this earth to set up a physical kingdom and reign from Jerusalem… Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm.”

17 Reactions to a spiritual relationship
Now when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people assembled about Aaron and said to him, “Come, make us a god who will go before us; as for this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.” Exodus 32:1

18 David’s prayer to God “Give to my son Solomon a perfect heart to keep Your commandments, Your testimonies and Your statutes, and to do them all, and to build the temple, for which I have made provision.” 1 Chronicles 29:19

19 Gideon God instructed him to pull down the altar of Baal Then the men of the city said… “Bring out your son, that he may die, for he has torn down the altar of Baal, and indeed, he has cut down the Asherah which was beside it.”

20 Jesus before the Sanhedrin
Some stood up and began to give false testimony against Him, saying, “We heard Him say, ‘I will destroy this temple made with hands, and in three days I will build another made without hands.’” Mark 14:57,58

21 Stephen before the Sanhedrin
They put forward false witnesses who said, “This man incessantly speaks against this holy place and the Law; for we have heard him say that this Nazarene, Jesus, will destroy this place and alter the customs which Moses handed down to us.” Acts 6:14

22 Saul Now Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest, and asked for letters from him to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to the Way, both men and women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. Acts 9:1,2

23 Israel and the Spiritual Relationship
I Corinthians 10:1 For I do not want you to be unaware, brethren, that our fathers were all under the cloud and all passed through the sea; and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea; and all ate the same spiritual food;

24 and all drank the same spiritual drink, for they were drinking from a spiritual rock which followed them; and the rock was Christ. Nevertheless, with most of them God was not well- pleased; for they were laid low in the wilderness.

25 Now these things happened as examples for us, so that we would not crave evil things as they also craved. Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written, “THE PEOPLE SAT DOWN TO EAT AND DRINK, AND STOOD UP TO PLAY.”

26 Nor let us act immorally, as some of them did, and twenty-three thousand fell in one day. Nor let us try the Lord, as some of them did, and were destroyed by the serpents. Nor grumble, as some of them did, and were destroyed by the destroyer. No γογγύζω goggyzō

27 Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come. Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed that he does not fall.

28 Do not love the world nor the things in the world
Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. I John 2:15
