July 18 – 21, 2019

2 Why attend – It’s an investment
A time to connect, re-charge, and energize your PTA! Everyone is welcome to attend! Officers, members, school site staff, community members Can’t attend? Consider sponsoring a student, teacher, or other member PTA Budget – what does it cover - full or partial cost of registration, ticketed meals, per diem or perhaps none of these. Refer to your local unit P&Ps, and know what is expected from sponsored delegates Whether you share a ride and/or a room or if you cover your own expenses, just make sure you get here.

Programs and organizations highlighted at the Resource Fair 95+ unique workshops offered by local, state, and national facilitators Vendor exhibitor booths Guest speakers, plenary sessions, awards, coaching sessions, roundtables, and more. Three general sessions Countless networking opportunities

4 Booking a Room Use Florida PTA website or event registration
Book early – Suites sell out first and fast Make sure you bring your tax exempt certificate. Paying by PTA check? You still need two signatures. Incidentals – $50 deposit or “hold on credit card” for each person registered to room Park your car and use the tram There are no elevators at Innisbrook

5 Before Packing or Attending What to wear – be comfortable and casual,
but not too casual, you’ll be in business mtgs Bring your favorite snacks, food and/or beverages Download our mobile Socio Event application (Google Play or Apple Store - select 2019 Florida PTA Leadership Convention and follow sign up instructions

Ready, Set, Go - a 30 minute pre-recorded information session offered Friday & Saturday mornings, in English or Spanish Be prepared to vote on bylaws changes and proposed resolutions that will affect your PTA Don’t forget your business cards for networking and preprinted labels for the vendors

7 Planning Your Day At the guard gate identify yourself as Florida PTA
3 primary buildings: Inverness Hall, Edinburgh Hall and Stirling Hall Review your event program and assemble your badge and ribbons Scholarship basket auction and fun ribbons to purchase Select your workshops Divide and conquer - if you have other members attending along with you, plan to attend different workshops

8 General Session 3 general sessions; 1 per day, Friday - Sunday
Safe guard your credentials (badge & voting card) Be prepared to adopt the Convention Standing Rules (meeting guidelines and etiquette) Voting (voice, raising delegate card, standing, ballot) Microphone procedures Debate protocol

9 Exhibitor drawings Friday, Saturday, and Sunday!
Events day-by-day Thursday – Get settled, plan your weekend, select your workshops, Exhibitor Pre-View event – light refreshments provided Friday – Ready Set Go!, Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Breakfast, Regions & Councils caucuses (some awards), Workshop Sessions 1-3, Resource Fair, Networking in 60, Reflections Gallery, General Session 1, Meet & Greet, County Council Gatherings Saturday – Ready Set Go!, Coaching Sessions, Reflections Gallery, Workshop Sessions 4-8, Exhibitors, Networking in 60, PTA Awards Luncheon, General Session 2, PTA Talent Show (benefits student scholarships) Sunday – Check out early so that you don’t miss workshops or the closing general session. Workshop sessions 9 & 10, General Session 3 Exhibitor drawings Friday, Saturday, and Sunday!
