2. PfP was awarded a new CCBHC Expansion Grant
$4 million grant over two years ( — )
Purpose:
Expand access to and delivery of Evidence-Based Practices (EBPs) to uninsured and underinsured persons, per federal request

3. Context 25 grants awarded nationally
13 of the awards were made to agencies within the 8 current CCBHC project states
12 awards were given to agencies and states without current CCBHC funding (only planning grants)
No other CCBHC in Missouri received the federal grant (reportedly all applied)

4. Four subpopulation groups among the uninsured/underinsured
People with Severe Mental Illness (SMI)
People with Co-Occurring Disorders [SMI and Substance Use Disorders (SUD)]
People with SUD
Children with Severe Emotional Disturbances (SED) (and their families)

5. Service Totals Number of persons served:
745 people over the two years
Greatest areas of growth for increased access and service provision are in newer service lines for PfP:
Outpatient (medications and/or therapy) 350 persons
-Substance use treatments: 190 persons
Children and/or family services: 130 persons
Smaller number for existing EBPs for people with SMI: 75 persons

6. “New” Staff positions added
17.5 Direct service FTE (prescriber, nurses, therapists, etc)
6.6 FTE for admin and management support and evaluation

7. Financial and sustainability considerations
While purpose of grant is to expand access to unserved, some possibility to reallocate some resources to cover currently uninsured persons served and to reallocate some staff positions from current funding to new grant funding
New management position includes a benefits specialist to help uninsured people obtain health insurance
Unlike many existing services, most of new services are time-limited services to be completed within grant period
