About the Opioid Crisis Working Group
What we do Housed at Startup Health, the Opioid Crisis Working Group aims to create end-to-end solutions for the opioid crisis through the OCWG strategic plan, which includes: Prevention and Treatment enhancements Use of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) Aftercare solutions which include pain management alternatives. Structure The OCWG structure includes its member partners – WellBrain, inRecovery, Sen-Jam, Personal Remedies, Cloud9, Hey, Charlie! - as well as several support teams and committees. Its internal team receives input from Providers, Payers, Government agencies and community-based organizations to help understand the problem and identify solutions.

Description of the Company: A SaaS based B2B2C chronic pain digital health platform enabling providers and hospital systems to effectively prescribe evidence based non-opiate modalities to treat chronic pain, save lives, and fight the opiate epidemic. Product or Service you Provide: an Ipad and smartphone solution using mindfulness and other services on a subscription basis to providers. Patient use is free. Substance abuse need being addressed by your product or service: opiate usage. inRecovery In-patient Out-patient Pre-Exposure Exposure Addiction Withdrawal Overdose Relapse Identify your Continuum of Care Who are your Clients: pain providers, neurologists, oncologists, orthopedics, family practice, and other types of practitioners, hospitals, pharma, medical device companies Who purchases your products or services: same as above and also PATIENTS (free for them) Who pays for your products or services: right now providers and medical device companies. What is your biggest barrier to entry: shifting landscape of medical coding – so that physicians and systems feel more comfortable in offering our service.

Description of the Company: Focused on Non-Opioid Inflammatory Pain Prevention by repurposing small molecules and using the expedited 505(b)2 pathway to bring drugs to market in less than 3 years. Our goal is to partner with a Licensee for commercialization. Product or Service you Provide: Pharmaceutical Products Substance abuse need being addressed by your product or service: Reducing Opioid Withdrawal Symptoms, Tolerance, and Dependence. inRecovery In-patient Out-patient Pre-Exposure Exposure Addiction Withdrawal Overdose Relapse Identify your Continuum of Care Who are your Clients: Individual persons taking an opioid, Physicians caring for patients taking opioids, Hospitals caring for patients taking opioids, Payors (insurance/PBM) of patients taking opioids. Who purchases your products or services: Individuals, Hospitals, PBM’s, and In-Recovery/in-patients. Description of the Company: Substance Use Disorder patients often develop nutrient deficiencies and are at risk with various chronic illnesses. Majority of these health issues can be prevented and treated through dietary and lifestyle changes. Personal Remedies provides fully automated individualized guidance to SUD patients. Product or Service you Provide: Mobile apps, and an open API to an AI-powered expert system. Substance abuse need being addressed by your product or service: Provide dietary guidance to patients recovering from SUD and/or at risk with likely nutrient deficiencies and comorbidities. inRecovery In-patient Out-patient Pre-Exposure Exposure Addiction Withdrawal Overdose Relapse Identify your Continuum of Care Who are your Clients: Providers, Wellness/Health IT vendors, and consumers Who purchases your products or services: Same as above/our clients.
