Direct Democracy – Citizens vote on everything Representative Democracy – citizens elect representatives to vote for them All equal under the law

3 Specific Example Direct – 4th century Ancient Athens – all citizens (men) met to resolve mutual concerns. Representative – U.S., England, Canada etc…

4 Totalitarianism Gov’t where the state has complete power over all aspects of a persons life. No freedom, Censorship

5 Specific Example Authoritarian/Dictatorship U.S.S.R. – Stalin
Italy – Mussolini Germany - Hitler

6 Fascism Extremely nationalistic form of Gov’t People are subordinate
One leader/Dictator They allow capitalism

7 Specific Example Mussolini first invented in Italy
“Believe! Obey! Work!” Hitler adopted Preserved Capitalism

8 Nazism National Socialist German Workers Party
Type of Fascism developed by Hitler Certain group of people who have a common language and culture
