3 Acts 17 10 As soon as it was dark, the brothers and sisters sent Paul and Silas on to Beroea. When they arrived, they went to the Jewish synagogue. 11 The Beroean Jews were more honorable than those in Thessalonica. This was evident in the great eagerness with which they accepted the word and examined the scriptures each day to see whether Paul and Silas’s teaching was true. 12 Many came to believe, including a number of reputable Greek women and many Greek men. CEB

8 Ephesians 4: 17 – 19 17 So I’m telling you this, and I insist on it in the Lord: you shouldn’t live your life anymore like the crowds that don’t worship God. They base their lives on pointless thinking, 18 and they are in the dark in their reasoning. They are disconnected from God’s life because of their ignorance and their closed hearts. 19 They are people who lack all sense of right and wrong, and who have turned themselves over to doing whatever feels good and to practicing every sort of corruption along with greed. CEB

9 Ephesians 4: 17 – 19 CEB. pointless thinking dark in their reasoning ignorance closed hearts lack all sense corruption greed

10 Ephesians 4: 20 – 24 But you didn’t learn that sort of thing from Christ. 21 Since you really listened to him and you were taught how the truth is in Jesus, 22 change the former way of life that was part of the person you once were, corrupted by deceitful desires. 23 Instead renew the thinking in your mind by the Spirit 24 and clothe yourself with the new person created according to God’s image in justice and true holiness. CEB

11 Ephesians 4: 20 – 24 CEB change the former way of life renew the thinking in your mind clothe yourself with the new person

12 the new way of being human
Jesus embodies the new way of being human Foolish Mind Closed Heart New Mind New Heart

13 Are we living the new way of being human where everything is about Jesus?
Or are we living the old way of being human where everything is about us?

14 “So and so has done well for himself or for herself.”

15 Have we done well for Jesus?
Has Jesus gotten everything Jesus wants? Faith in Jesus is not about what we want. It’s about what God wants.

16 the new way of being human
Jesus embodies the new way of being human New Mind New Heart

17 2 Corinthians 4: 16, 17 So we aren’t depressed. But even if our bodies are breaking down on the outside, the person that we are on the inside is being renewed every day. 17 Our temporary minor problems are producing an eternal stockpile of glory for us that is beyond all comparison. CEB
