2 Our Mission… DSPS seeks to empower students with disabilities to achieve their goals and become contributing members of society by eliminating barriers and facilitating services for students to become accountable, self- reliant, responsible and capable.

Steps to DSPS 1) Apply to Delta College: 2) Take assessment (Assessment Center located in DeRicco 110) or Self-Assess into level 1. 3) Attend a New Student Group Advising (NSGA)* session or register for online orientation: *Call DSPS two days in advance to arrange for accommodations 4) Make an appointment with a DSPS Counselor and bring disability verification from an appropriate certifying professional (IEP, Disability Verification Form, etc.) Please note: appointments rescheduled for students who do not bring disability documentation. 4 DSPS Services Approved services are based on individual functional and/or educational limitations as outlined in the student’s disability verification, and may include: Academic, Career, Personal Counseling Disability Management Strategies Test Taking Accommodations Note Taking Services Equipment Loans Alternate Formatting Interpreting Services CART Services Furniture Accommodations DSPS Computer Lab Limited Learning Disability Assessment Mobility Services Adaptive Physical Education (offered through PE Dept.) 6 Transition for Academic Success is Key (TASK)
TASK is an intensive orientation for students who learn differently, offered Monday - Thursday, June 4th – 15th , 8:15 am to 12:45 pm. On-line applications accepted April 2nd – May 4th. Limited to 25 students. Assists students in their transition from high school to college: How to access DSPS services Understanding an academic accommodations plan and how to discuss it with faculty Exploring Delta College support services and academic resources Students enroll in two classes: Learning Skills 072: Transition for Academic Success (1 unit) Guidance 019: Introduction to College (1 unit) 6/3/2019
