Variable name Variable description Variable categories for data transmission to Eurostat Sex Sex is the combination of biological and physiological characteristics that define a person to be either male or female. In cases where the biological sex of a person is not known, the information may be replaced by either the information from administrative data or the self-declared sex (survey data). - Male - Female
