2 13. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place

3 15. and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

4 17. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

5 1 John 4:4 “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”

6 “Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist…”
Ephesians 6:14a “Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist…”

7 First, there is the “truth” found in the Word of God
Jesus said, “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.” John 17:17

8 It reveals our condition before God, Roman 3:10-23.
So, the Bible is Truth. It reveals our condition before God, Roman 3:10-23. It reveals His solution to our problem, Jesus Christ the Son of God, John 3:16.

9 It reveals the way of salvation, Acts 16:31.
It reveals the final destiny of the saints of God, John 14:1-3. It reveals the final destiny of the lost, Psalm 9:17.

10 Second, not only does “truth” refer to “the content of that which is true,” it also refers to “the very attitude of truthfulness.”

11 “ No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer.” 2 Timothy 2:4.

12 “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.”
Matthew 16:24.

13 Conclusion Are your belt of truth buckled around your waist?
Are you a faithful, true servant of the Lord? Does your daily walk bring glory and honor to Him?

14 If you have never embraced the “truth” of the Gospel and you need to be saved, come to Him and He will implant “truth” in your soul and change your life.

15 If you are saved, come ask Him to help you “take up the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”
