Number of people reported affected by natural disasters
From 1900 until the mid-1960s there were very few people reported affected by natural disasters in comparison to post-1970, and especially from the 1990s onwards. There was not a year where the people affected went above 100 million until the mid-1960s.
From the graph it can be concluded that the number of people affected by natural disasters has massively increased since 1965.
