Citizens were encouraged to grow their own food- victory gardens.
This way more food could be sent to soldiers.

Soldiers need food. Any food wasted at home, could have been used to send to soldiers. The empty plate and glass show that this person ate all of their food, not wasting any of it. “Food is a weapon” shows that food is needed for soldiers. It can be sent to them.

Encouraging people to buy victory bonds (donate money towards war).
It is showing that if you don’t donate money your families could be destroyed by the hands of Japan and Germany.

The fists are Great Britain, United States, and Soviet Union. The fists are squishing Hitler and the Nazis. We fought from different fronts all heading toward the middle of Germany.

Soldiers were not able to tell even their families where they were.
