1. Modeling Earth’s Layers
Procedure:
Put a layer of beads (1 cm) at the bottom of a clear plastic cup.
Put a layer of gravel (2 cm) on top of the beads. Stir until the beads & gravel are mixed.
Put another layer of gravel (1 cm). DO NOT mix this layer.
SLOWLY fill the cup about 2/3 full of water. Be sure not to disturb the layers in the cup.
Stir the beads and gravel. Observe what happens.
