2. Refresher: Difference between Colonialism and Imperialism
***IMPORTANT***  Imperialism ≠ Colonialism
Difference?
Colonialism = an occupying power moves into a foreign territory, occupies it, and populates it with its own people (e.g., the way England moved people into North America)
Imperialism = an occupying power exerts control over a foreign country from afar (no occupation, no settlement of people within the foreign territory)
In Africa, we’re mostly talking about imperialism
