Current traditional schools cannot support the growing population of college students. Allows flexibility for people’s schedules and circumstances Distance education learners are typically older

More distance education programs are needed Students need programs that are self- paced Different type of learners have different motivation

5 Why Technology is Important?
Crucial component of distance education Growth in internet usage Becoming a requirement in job force

Devices need to be more versatile and cheaper Different groups of people are able to communicate -nationalities, age, socioeconomic level Need more programs that help people become job ready

7 Why Economics is Important?
Start-up prices are high, but rewarding Lifelong learning needed Funding

Need more qualified staffing Retraining programs needed Need to find cost-effective ways to lower the program

9 Conclusion on Student Enrollment
Companies will respond to student enrollment by: Designing more self-paced programs Ensuring they have more distance education programs for the growing population Ensuring that the programs are of quality

Companies will respond to technology by: Having minimal requirements for classes Allowing diversity into programs Encouraging students to take a distance education course Ensuring students are ready for the job force

Companies will respond to economics by: Look for cheaper alternatives Promoting retraining courses Looking for additional funding Finding qualified staffing
